Hi all, this was a documentary in the making a year ago when I was starting out on my own raw food journey and I'm really pleased to see that it is now completed and available to buy on-line.
"Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans with 'incurable' diabetes switching their diet and getting off insulin.
The film follows each participant's remarkable journey and captures the medical, physical, and emotional transformations brought on by this diet and lifestyle change. We witness moments of struggle, support, and hope as what is revealed, with startling clarity, is that diet can reverse diabetes and change lives."
Please pass this information on to those you know with type 1 and 2 diabetes.
Just watching the trailer is an eye opener if you suffer from Diabetes and think it is genetic or incureable, not so. I am also aware that that NAET has a treatment protocol for diabetes (allergy to sugar, allergy to insulin as two of many possible combinations) and that many individuals have used EFT succesfully too.
Just wanted to share. If you're familiar with EFT or "tapping", you know that it has the potential to transform your life. Go to www.tryitoneverything.com to register for the EFT World Summit event, for F.R.E.E. What's even better is that you don't have to travel, or book a hotel, or sit in a meeting room...you can experience the entire event from the comfort of your own home.

P.P.S. - You don't have to travel or book a room anywhere...you get to experience the entire event from the comfort of your own home.
Maisie brought home a book from school last week, it was a book called ‘The Squink’ by Rita Ray. The story is about a little girl who wants to make something extra special for a craft fair.
We all really enjoyed the book, both Maisie and Megan loved it and in particular they loved the little thing the girl in the story made - a creature called 'The Squink'. So, because I can, and I confess I do enjoy, making crafty things they begged me to make each of them a Squink, so I did.
The girls each chose their own buttons for eyes and noses and positioned them how they wanted them. Our squinks have quilted sleeping bags as they were easier (and quicker) for me to run up on the sewing machine.
The squinks are firm favourites. The Squink on the left of the picture is Megan's and the one on the right is Maisie's.
Just a week ago, at the Property Extravaganza event (see last post), I had the fabulous opportunity of having 'One Minute' on stage, in front of 200 people!
I'm the one with the microphone :-) and Judith is the one wearing pink with Margaret next to her.
The slot was a chance to to tell other people about what I am doing and to ask for any help I needed.
I wanted everyone to know about this site, and about my daughter who had allergies to milk, cheese, chocolate, tartrazine and MSG (and those were just the tip of the iceberg).
If you haven't already then you can read about Megans original Signs & Symptoms and her results post NAET Treatments here.
I told everyone how we found out about this a year and a half ago and how by using simple techniques such as www.NAET.com we have eliminated/cured these allergies.
I asked people to help me by telling anyone they knew with an allergy or an illness or a disease to come here to www.carolinemanning.com and read about my little one and my family's journey. I also asked that they tell other people about me and the site and sign up for the newsletter which I will start sending out in April.
Well, I had planned a calm short and clear 1 minute presentation and instead I had to take lots of deep breaths and stop myself crying several times. I guess because I was talking about my precious little girlie and because this is so important to me personally and for people to know about.
It really was wonderful to do and so many people came up to me later to ask more about it and to share their own stories with me. It was really great.
So I ask you, if you are suffering from allergies, illness or disease or even things that don't fit into the medical boxes, then please do consider finding out what really is at the root of what is going on for you - and feel free to pass this information on to someone you know. It might just be what they have been searching for!
I’m just back on-line after a hectic past week and after the fantastic Money Gym 'Property Extravaganza' event on Saturday 21st March.
It was so wonderful to meet so many people and put faces with names and it was a real privilege to be part of it. On that day the Money Gym rasied over £5000 for The Big Issue and have a further donation in the pipeline for another £5000 and in my humble opinion that is seriously cool.
As if all that were not enough - for me it was a day full of surprises and quite an emotional one too. I went to the property day hoping that the next thing for me to do on my wealth creation path would become clear and boy did it!
Towards the end of the day I was sitting enjoying all the raffle tickets being drawn (over £40,000 worth of Property related prizes!) and one of the big prizes was ‘Property Coaching with Judith Morgan’. As it came up I realised that I would love to have someone as wonderful as Judith walk with me and support me on my Property/Wealth Creation path, I looked at my ticket as the number was drawn and I heard number "49" my hand shot up..it was my ticket!
Wait for it....I won £6,000 worth of Property Coaching with Judith :-) one very happy teddy here. So I'll be taking my coaching with Judith over the coming year! I’m a week after it all but it is still totally amazing and because of the information on the day and now that I'll be having some hand-holding from Judith - I’ve gone from ‘Oh dear’ about what best to do in property to ‘Well, if I do this and that…’
My first step is getting my collection of pensions into one place in a SIPP and getting that money to make more money for me - a self funding pension if you will. Sounds good to me and requires no extra cash input on my part! What about you? what money can you put to work for you today?
I've contacted many friends, family and colleagues recently to let them know about NAET* (and EFT**) and how these techniques can help and in many cases eliminate their diseases/illnesses.
What I've learned this week from these conversations has been a real eye opener. The thing that is really clear to me is that people are given their illness/disease name/label for example Multiple Sclerosis/Diabetes/Coeliac disease and are also told that it is an auto-immune disease.
Currently these 'auto-immune' diseases are detailed as not cureable by western medicine other than by food/substance avoidance or prescribed immunosupression medications.
Now my problem with these lables is this: Once the person has the label - in this example 'auto-immune disease' in their heads it means that when they go to look at the www.NAET.com website and they see the word 'Allergy' they immediately say - "No Caroline, thank you very much but my disease is not an allergy... what I have is an auto-immune disease".
No! what you have is a label and you need to look closely at what that label means.
Really...Are you dying because of a Label?
I really want to get something clear here - an allergy to things in your body IS an auto-immune illness/disease.
See my previous post 'To Cure Or Not To Cure Allergies?' : To be allergic to something means that we have an overactive immune response to a substance both good and bad (either incoming or already inside our body). Our immune system sets off a huge reaction to attack the substance.
Please also read what an "Autoimmune disease" is (as defined in wikipedia) "Autoimmune disease arises from an overactive immune response of the body against substances and tissues normally present in the body. In other words, the body attacks its own cells. This may be restricted to certain organs ... or involve a particular tissue in different places".
See the Wikipedia page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoimmune_disease for the full explanation and even more interestingly the list of diseases which fall under the label of 'auto-immune' diseases.
Bottom line is, an auto immune reaction is where the body attacks itself and an allergic reaction is where the body attacks a substance (in the case of these diseases the substance is something within the body itself) - so the same thing said a different way.
Please if you have a diagnosed illness or disease take 5 minutes to find out if there are testimonials at the www.NAET.com website or the www.emofree.com website. Also look at the bottom of a previous posting here for a list of other common illnesses/discomforts which can be caused by underlying undiagnosed and untreated allergies.
Don't sit doing nothing because you've been told you can't do anything - it simply is not true. It just means the people you are talking to don't know about it yet - that's all.
I've had my sewing machine out. In fact, truth be told, I've had it out a lot because I joined a local tailoring/sewing afternoon class about 8 weeks ago now. Learning something enjoyable and new is a good thing to do in my book :-)
During that class each week I've been chatting with new friends, cutting out patterns (Simplicity 4252 for little girlie skirts and tops), laying material the correct directions, pinning, sewing, basting and matching notches....and Wallah!! The result...I have my pretty dotty gypsy skirt for Maisie all done and dusted.
When I brought it home completed last week she put it on and it fitted her perfectly, she was a very happy bunny and so was I - it looks great on her.
Next project - a skirt for me perhaps? maybe that Vogue Jacket or handbag? I ordered those patterns this week :-) FYI Vogue have currently got a buy one get one free offer on during March.
Thought I'd tell you about the atlas bone in your neck, it's the bone that supports your neck and head. We (as in my husband, 2 children and I) all had our atlas bones adjusted and re-positioned correctly a couple of weeks ago now.
When the chap checked us to start with we were able to turn our heads fairly reasonably but when lying down it was obvious all but one of us had different length legs! also when lying down we couldn't fully turn our heads to the sides without moving the tops of our bodies. All very interesting stuff.
We've now had our adjustments and will be having our follow up check in the next week or so. At the end of our session where the atlas was adjusted my legs were equal and I was able to turn my head fully right and left (something I have not been able to do since a car crash and whiplash in 1996). Both the girls and my husband also experienced immediate free-ing up of the neck movements and everyone's leg lengths were as they should be at the end of the session too :-)
The strangest thing was on the Monday following - I said to the girls 'look both ways' when we were standing at the edge of a road about to cross. Both their heads rotated clearly right round to each side. It was a bit of a surprise really, I hadn't noticed their head movements were so limited before!
So all in all we've seen straighter standing up, less hunched backs, increased energy. Unfortunately for me I've got a slight dislocation going on with my TMJ joint in the jaw (a lovely follow on from having one thing put in the right place and the other goes out of place!) which is somewhat uncomfortable.
The muscles obviously all have to shift around to accommodate the new 'correct' atlas position and the other things start to show up. Needless to say I'm REALLY looking forward to the follow up appointment and having everything 'straightened out'!
Great weekend, how about you? Sunday saw a day of family fun for us as we returned to Dover Castle for another visit. They have closed off a section of the main Keep for refurbishment until August 2009 but there is still plenty to do around the castle. We went on one of the secret tours round the towers and tunnels and of course stopped off at the tea shop for tea and a slice of cake :-)
View from the cliff edges over Dover and the Castle behind us. They said on the radio (on our way home) that it was the hottest day in the year so far, I'd agree as the girls ran around without their coats on!
We also spent a while using the morse code machine - dit dit dot dot dash machine. We were playing and making up words with the machine and each of us took turns guessing the word the other was tapping. Very funny indeed.
When we came home we watched a film where they talked about morse code and how it was used during the war. The girls were very excited about it and understood exactly what they were talking about because we'd just been playing with a machine in the afternoon. Great stuff.
We have an annual family Membership which allows us to vist many of the English Heritage properties free of charge (after the annual membership fee is paid). The annual pass makes it a great day out with only a packed lunch to take - easy on the pocket and lots on the fun (and education).
The Money Gym are running a property extravaganza day in central London on March 21st, entry only £25 (which goes to the Big Issue) and the speakers are the most cutting edge people in property today!
I'm already signed up to go, will you be going too?
If you're thinking about getting your foot on the property ladder, or buying your first 'buy to let' then this is the place to be, alternatively if you have a pension languishing you can learn how to put it into a SIPP and buy property with that!
Have a read about it all on Judith Morgans blog here or go to The Money Gym web site and click the 'Live Events' section to get the full run down about what will be happening on the day and listen to the free speaker audios.
Let me know if you're going and if you see me there say hello :-)
Just a quick post to say a bit about Allergies :-)
To be allergic to something means that our immune system over reacts to a substance both good and bad (either incoming or already inside our body). Our immune system sets off a huge reaction to attack the substance and in doing so lets off a host of toxins. At times the toxins produced during an allergic reaction are far worse than any food you could eat, in fact we would all recognise these toxins as a cold or flu with symptoms such as fever, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, stomach upsets, bladder irritation etc.
The Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique www.NAET.com is all about recognising the allergy, the physical/nutritional and emotional reaction to a substance. When the allergy is eliminated you then have a choice about whether you want to continue to be exposed to the substance, eat it or be be around it without it making you sick, additionally and very importanty you will also correctly use ‘good’ things in your body such as vitamins and minerals.
I commented that my little one was tucking into sweeties, I’ll say it again as it is worth noting, after her initial enthusiasm for these foods what was and is really clear to me is that she no longer craves or even wants them. No allergy = No cravings.
For me personally I was like this with coca cola, when I had a glass I would go on a snack fest - not anymore, I haven’t been interested in having any at all. When you do not have a craving for a food or drink you are truly free to choose whether or not to have those things.
Even better than that, by free-ing myself of my allergic reactions I now know that my body is not attacking itself or going to war every time I eat, drink, sit next to, or inhale a substance which to many others is no problem at all. After all, on-going undetected allergic reactions can culminate in far worse conditions than a bit of a fever or an upset tummy (see my last posting highlighting only a few illnesses and diseases).
Sorry I've been away a while, I've been doing so much and wondering about how best to do it all, I've had so much to say that I've not been able to even put it up here. But today I must.
The biggest thing going on in my life is that we are knocking off my daughters allergies one by one. If you've read my previous food/children post then you'll know she was allergic to cows milk, cheese, chocolate, Tartazine and MSG and a whole bunch of other things I suspected but didn't know quite how to get to the bottom of.
Anyway, a very kind reader of my blog contacted me off-line and told me about NAET - Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques, you can read more at their website www.NAET.com.
The long and short is I read up about it, it works on acupressure points/meridian energies and uses muscle testing and kinesiology principles all of which are familiar to me, so I found a practitioner had a talk with her and off we went.
We had our first appointment, both my little one and I, and in that session we identified a whole list of things we were both allergic to and had a balancing treatment at the end of it. We have since then worked through the basics and my little one is now NOT ALLERGIC TO cows milk, cheese, chocolate, Tartazine and MSG.
Did you get that? she is now NOT ALLERGIC TO cows milk, cheese, chocolate, Tartazine and MSG!
Last Monday we returned from treating chocolate and she tucked into a bag of chocolates with utter delight. I kept a close eye on her - not a blemish, no broken skin around her lips, no crying, manic behaviour, tummy upsets or cramps, no wee-ing herself (which she would do up to 5 times a day if she had eaten chocolate), no disturbed sleep. It is a miracle and I keep looking at her beautiful face and checking it is for real.
There are quite a few more treatments we need to have to clear all of the allergies we have but it's well worth it. There is no price you can put on being able to go out and order what you want to eat. Our lunch boxes and evening meals have totally changed this week, we've even been able to eat out without worrying. We have had butter, milk, yogurt, flavoured crisps, crackers, sliced meats - a whole host of things we had excluded because of how this was affecting her/our health.
What was most amazing for me was the realisation that although I wanted to eat Raw I could clearly see (with hindsight -isn't it wonderful) how I had changed my eating over time so that I was avoiding all the things that had been making me feel unwell. Interestigly enough these were also the foods which I had experienced cravings for in some way or another such as dairy, grains, fizzy drinks, caffine, chocolate, crisps - it turned out I was allergic to them! Guess what? I'm NOT now :-)
There is so much to tell you about this and how it could affect YOU and YOUR life that my mind is fit to burst.
If you have any 'illness' or 'disease' that you are living with then PLEASE go to the www.NAET.co.uk website which has all sorts of testimonials on it or buy and read the book 'Say Good-Bye to Illness' by Dr Devi S Nambudripad - you will find a whole host of what the medical world call diseases (ultimately a label for a grouping of symptoms) which when identified and treated with NAET disappear.
I'll list a bunch of diseases/illnesses/things that I know that people I talk with regularly are experiencing and tolerating in their lives: Chronic Fatigue, ME, MS, Irritable Bowel, Diabetes, Peanut allergy, Egg allergy, milk allergy, wheat allergy, gluten allergy, Coeliac disease, spices allergies and yes that does include full Anaphylaxis where you have to use an Epipen (you would be treated via a surrogate), Arthritis, Latex, Psoriasis, ADD, ADHD, Eczema, receding gums, ulcerative colitis, Chrohns Disease, Asthma, Leaky gut, Candida, Carpel Tunnel/RSI, Chronic constipation, Urinary disorders, Ovarian cysts, infertility, PMS, endometriosis, depression, mood swings.
I'll leave it at that for today and over the next few weeks I'll be restructuring the site and telling you about the symptoms we all started with (myself, my husband and my 2 children) and what we're seeing unfold day by day :-)
Thought I'd post an update - you'll be amazed at this. To the left of this posting you'll see I have a page called 'The Water Ioniser' there I talk about how I used it from the beginning of the year to get rid of a lump in my pinkie. My parents were about to start (I can tell you they took some persuading) well they've been using it for about 2 months now and by george has it been amazing or what!
Dad has had psoriasis for 22 years, real thick and flakey on his elbows and knees, both parents have arthritis and high blood pressure and mum had a bit of a frozen shoulder and chronic constipation. Well not any longer folks...
The arthritis and all swelling has reduced by I'd say 80% and still going, Dads psoriasis has all but dissapeared, Mums frozen shoulder is unlocked and free moving, she also rarely experiences constipation (after I can't tell you how much hassle before and many an unsavoury conversation about the subject).
I took photos back in May when they started tthe ionised water then again in June when Dad was saying there hadn't been much change (!*??) As with therapy/coaching I find that people have very short memories about how bad or difficult things were when all of a sudden things get better, we focus on where we are now and seem to get amnesia about how far we've come :-)
Psoriasis on elbows: First and second photo (before) were taken 2nd May, third photo (after) on June 15th.
Psoriasis on knees: First photo (before) was taken 2nd May, second photo (after) on June 15th. Notice also the significant decrease in the arthritis in my fathers fingers (holding up the jeans).
Wow, is all I can say and that I'm still using it too. If you decide to rent or buy the water Ioniser do tell them you read about it here :-)
As mentioned my relationships with myself my children and food has changed somewhat. I've managed to unhook from the 'I should be working' thing that was driving me on contrary to what was happening in my life (looking after children, elderly parents and dealing with childrens food intolerances and school issues).
The real shift has been in putting myself first and foremost, that's not to say that I bound out of bed every day and it's all easy as pie because quite frankly it is not. Around 8 months ago I identified that my youngest child had a plethora or food intolerances (cows milk, cheese, chocolate, msg and tartazine for starters) and I had to get my head around what that meant for her and for us as a family.
It is an interesting and very emotive thing, food, we tie so much up with it. So I've had a lot of releasing to do around what is good and right for us/her. I'm currently involved inthe boundless living challenge (runs from 20th july for 45 days) and my real focus at the moment is on staying high raw for me and at the same time having a dairy and additive free diet for the girls.
You'd think it would be easy but you'd be amazed how much our food is messed with. 8 Months ago when I started removing dairy I thought it'd be strightforward. I had no idea that they put milk into sliced meat, burgers, all sorts of sauces and stocks, crackers and that they call it so many things - its not just milk its lactose, whey and a whole host of other names so you have to figure it out.
MSG is not great either, the food industry have got wise to people disliking their foods if they see MSG on the labelling so instead they call it 'yeast extract' or 'spices' or simply change the quantities of packaging so that if it is under a 0.5% of that quantity then they don't have to mention it at all! it has really blown my mind.
I started out by taking out foods with milks and using things like the 'free from' ranges in the supermarkets and then when I looked at what was in them - boy did my hair curl. So now, in line with what I've been doing on the raw food front, I'm simply getting back to basics. Fruits and veggies, plain meat (though even these have additives to keep them the same colour and to last longer and don't get me started on what is in sausages and whether you can get plain meat ones or not!!). Ooh, that feels good to get off my chest, its weird becasue no one seems to want to talk about how awful this is but then I suspect people just don't get that it is all going on.
If you want to follow the details of what's going on right now for me (and around 3,000 other people in their own challeges) then go to http://www.boundlessliving.com/ to sign up as a spectator or start your own challenge, it's never too late to get clear on your own passions :-)
Major shifts happening and still on-going. Last blog I mentioned the changes which made my life feel altogether much wealthier than it had been before. Key things were letting go of relationships which no longer served, recognising when others are putting their 'stuff' onto me and letting go of any thing which was going off in me in response to it. I identified many things which felt like they would make my life feel richer, calmer and more enjoyable also those things that are more aligned with my own personal values.
We bought fluffy the hamster, he is a dwarf roborovski (VERY fast and little) hamster who is an absolute sweetie. My eldest just fell in love with him when she saw him in the shop so we brought him home and started taming and training him. Here he is :-)I do enjoy having a pet again.
We started horse riding lessons, something we wanted to do for a while and had put off until the girls were a bit older. We now go every 3 weeks or so which is cool - keeps the costs down but is enough to get you into it and already my eldest is doing really well with it. She'll be spending a full day at the stables later this month learning about pony grooming and stable management. I have to say I'm excited for her too.
Something else I like about riding is it makes me feel wealthy, just like eating strawberries, using a fancy perfume or having a massage does so I've focused on bringing in and having more of the things that make me feel wealthy on a day to day basis.
We've also joined the English Heritage as a family which lets us visit many historic buildings and venues without having to shell out cash every visit, again, feels wonderful to plan a weekend with outings in it without worrying about paying to get in (many of these places cost £25 per family visit).
So far we've been to Dover Castle and Stonehenge and we've planned in visits to Reculver Towers, Chatham Dockyard and many more places over the summer.
Our summer holiday so far has included a break to Reading, Bracknell (Coral Reef Water World), Windsor, Legoland, Stonehenge, Dover Castle, London (Science Museum and then off to the Rainforest Cafe for tea :-) so all in all it's feeling like we're living the life of riley so to speak.
So these are the things that are making me feel wealthy and connected, the next blog post is about my shift in my relationship with myself, my children and my food :-)
